José Sanchez Acosta

Jose Sanchez Acosta was born in the Dominican Republic, raised with the values of treating everyone around him like family and always pursuing his dreams. These lessons continue to shape his daily life, especially now that he resides in the United States, where people can sometimes feel more distant and reserved. Despite these cultural differences, he strives to carry the warmth and sense of community he grew up with, sharing the love and kindness that defined his upbringing.

 

Now a Film and Media Production major, Jose's path was inspired by the nights he spent watching TV novelas with his mother and grandmother. Initially, he dreamed of becoming an actor, but his curiosity led him deeper into understanding how stories are created and how actors bring characters to life. Through filmmaking, he aims to bridge cultural gaps, highlight overlooked struggles, and foster empathy and connection in a world that often feels distant.
